What a product feed is
A product feed is a file that lists every product in your store, one entry per product or variant, with its title, price, link, image and stock. Google Shopping, Facebook and Instagram shops all read feeds, so most platforms can already produce one, often with a free app or plugin.
Chooza reads the same feed. You don't need to make a special one.
Formats Chooza reads
- Google Merchant XML (RSS 2.0 or Atom), the most common.
- Facebook catalog XML.
- CSV or TSV using Google's column names (
id,title, link, price, and so on), separated by commas, semicolons or tabs.
The format is detected from the content, so the file name doesn't matter.
The fields that matter
| Field | Needed? | What Chooza uses it for |
|---|---|---|
id | Required | Keeps each product the same between syncs |
title | Required | Search and product cards |
| Required | Prices on cards, price questions |
link | Required | The card’s link to your product page |
availability | Recommended | Recommending in-stock products first |
image_link | Recommended | The card’s picture |
description | Recommended | Answering questions about the product |
| Helpful | Search by brand and category |
| Helpful | Sale prices and variants |
Products without an id, title, price or link are skipped, and the import report says which and why.
Link or upload?
A link is best: Chooza re-reads it automatically, every 24 hours on Starter, every 6 hours on Growth and every hour on Pro, so prices and stock stay current. An uploaded file stays as it is until you upload a new one. You can also click Sync now on the Products page anytime.
Shopify
Shopify stores don't need a feed: choose Shopify store and enter your address. Chooza reads your store's public product list. A password-protected store must remove the password first, or use a feed app instead.
Large catalogs
Each plan includes a number of products: 2,000 on Starter, 10,000 on Growth and 50,000 on Pro. If your feed has more, in-stock products are chosen first, and the Products page tells you how many were left out.
Feed content is data, not instructions
Text in a product description is treated as product information, never as instructions, and prices, stock and links on product cards always come straight from your feed, never from the AI.
